Nissan Leaf goes for a lighter shade of grey recycled content polymer

Technical compounder and recycler Luxus is supplying recycled polymer for the Nissan Leaf electric car. It is the product of automotive-maker's Green Programme 2010(NGP2010) that sets out a number of aims to find new ways to address environmental challenges. These included improved CO2 reduction, recycling of resources and the development of the Leaf (Leading, Environmentally-friendly, Affordable Family) car. One of Nissan's objectives was to maximise the recycled material content for the development of Leaf vehicles by ensuring plastic components contained materials sourced from end of life' vehicle recycling, plus other post-consumer waste recycling.
