Europe--Prices rise further as import pressures remain subdued

This month, we have seen further moderate price rises in Europe ahead of further sharp price increases expected for the third quarter. In fact, ArcelorMittal has today announced price increases for steel sheet, which will take the price of hot-rolled coil for July and August delivery to 720 euros/tonne. However, this price increase was announced too late to feature in our price assessments this month, as our assessments are based on spot prices for forward delivery seen in the market in the week prior to publication.
