We read with great interest the article by Mistry et al and would like to congratulate the authors for describing the novel "bail out" technique for unyielding stents. Endourologic intervention in the form of ureteroscopy or percutaneous nephrolithotomy in 1 or multiple sittings with or without extracorporeal shock wave litho-tripsy has been described for removal of encrusted ureteral stents. ' Open, laparoscopic, or robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery are rarely required for encrusted ureteral stents removal.
