India's thermal coal shortages lead to lots of Interest in the U.S. but not many deals

It's no shocker that India is suffering a shortage in thermal coal supply. The sizeable shortfall of quality coal production and the huge reliance on imported coal to meet power demands have often led to severe shortages of fuel and, consequently, very low inventory levels and blackouts. If that isn't sufficient to give power-plant operators constant headaches, now there is a new issue that could add to the misery.
