A big month from the DTA terminal was the headliner as Hampton Roads terminals handled 4.37 million tons of export coal in March to bring the first quarter total to 12.26 million tons, an annualized 49.04 million tons. While all of us continue to bluster about the likelihood of a deep slide in Hampton Roads exports, the annualized total for the three coal facilities is down less than 2% from the calendar year 2013 total of 49.80 million tons. Still there are some signs of weakness.
