What deals that are being done in Central Appalachia are on a razor's edge ... and it's a dull razor. Since most of the utilities are out of the game when it comes to buying coal, a lot of the coal that's changing hands these days is from company-to-company. Got a contract where the end user is still taking the coal - there's talk that some of these do exist in the Appalachian Mountains, but some people believe in skunk apes, too - it can make sense to buy another guy's coal and leave yours in the ground.
