MITSUBISHI Rayon Co. Ltd. has signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Italian automotive major Automobili Lamborghini SpA to jointly develop carbon fibre composite material for automotive use. The two companies have been discussing the possibility of developing new applications in the area of Carbon Fibrereinforced Plastic (CFRP) for automotive use by combining Mitsubishi Rayon's technology in CFRP intermediate materials and process technology and Lamborghini's technology and knowledge in developing light-weighted component products. The MoU signed by the two companies is the first concrete step towards the implementation of joint development project.
