Huhtamaki to evaluate its films business

FINLAND-based plastics packaging group, Huhtamaki Oyj, has announced that it is evaluating its options regarding its films business, due to its growing strategic focus on food packaging. Huhtamaki says that a potential outcome of the evaluation is divestment of its films business segment. The news comes as the group reports continued growth in sales, with 1.19 billion euros ($1.6 billion) taken in net sales for the first half of 2014, 6 percent up on the first half of 2013. The company also announced a 12 percent increase in its emerging markets compared to the first half of 2013.
