Wesfarmers will write down the asset value of its 100%-ownedCurragh coal mine in Queensland by A$600 million-A$850 million pretaxbasis ($432.5 million-$613 million) following a review of thebusiness, said the Australian company in a statement Wednesday.The Curragh mine together with Wesfarmers’ 40% share in theBengalla coal mine in New South Wales had a combined book value inthe company’s 2015 annual report of A$1.89 billion.
