BHP Billiton keeps FY 2014-15 thermal, met coal guidance unchanged

BHP Billiton said Tuesday that it was keeping its thermal coal production guidance at 73 million mt for the July 2014-June 2015 financial year, with its metallurgical coal output also unchanged at 47 million mt. The miner said in its results for the half-year ending December 31, that 36 million mt of thermal coal was produced, down 3% on the year, with the export coal sold at an average realized price of $69/mt, slipping from $74/ mt a year before.
