India's Kamarajar port seeks to convert iron ore terminal to receive coal

In a bid to enhance its coal handling capacity, state-owned Kamarajar Port on the east coast of India has invited proposals for conversion of its existing 12 million mt/year iron ore terminal into a coal import receiving facility.Kamarajar Port Limited (KPL) has floated a request for qualification (RFQ) solicitation in order to select a developer to convert its iron ore terminal into a common-user coal terminal on a design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis for a 30-year period from the date of award.
