End-users looking to boost efficiency were seeking imported thermal coal with higher heating value to blend with domestic material, spurring a rise in inquiries for Indonesian mid-to-high CV products, sources said Wednesday. There might be some demand coming in from India for medium-grade coal, such as 5,000 kcal/kg GAR coal, because of softer prices, but this would mainly be for blending purposes, a Singapore-based trader said.
