Helius Energy calls time on Avonmouth, Southampton biomass projects

Helius Energy has pulled the plug on its twoproposed biomass projects in the UK, the company saidthis week.Planning consent for the 100 MW Avonmouth projectexpired on March 26 and the company said in a statementthat “despite extensive efforts to secure finance over the pastthree years” it has been “unable to obtain the requiredequity funding to meet the full construction costs.”
