Indonesian thermal coal with lowlevels of ash and sulfur was in demand in the Chineseseaborne market Tuesday, following reports China plans a3% tax on imports of material with higher ash and sulfur,market participants said.Indonesian cargoes of 4,700 kcal/kg NAR coal rose 15cents in Asia trade to settle at $57.15/mt CFR South China,according to the Platts/Fenwei CCI 7 price assessment.
