Singapore—Spot metallurgical coal started the week steady to slightly weaker Monday, though several traders felt that the market was unlikely to fall much further. Platts assessed premium low-volatile hard coking coal unchanged at $150.50/mt FOB Australia, and second-tier HCC down $1/mt at $136/mt FOB Australia. A slight decrease in freight rates further eroded CFR values.
