China’s power shortage eases in Feb despite fall in hydropower output

China’s electricity shortage in February eased from January, despite reduced hydropower output, as coal-fired plants produced more power, the National Development and Reform Commission said Tuesday. China was short of 5,660 MW of electricity in February, while in January its shortfall had totaled 6,530 MW, NDRC figures showed.
