Buyers in China's imported thermal coal market are taking a wait-and-see attitude after the traditional spring festival holidays, market sources said this week. As some downstream industrial electricity consumers, mostly private manufacturing plants, have yet to resume production after the spring festival holidays, electricity consumption has not recovered, resulting in the continued weakness in coal demand, a Beijing-based trader said.
