The Indian coal ministry reiterated Monday that a new coal grading and pricing system based on gross calorific value (GCV) effective from January 1, 2012, was set to stay even as the country's power ministry asked for a suspension of the scheme. "There's no question of rolling it back or suspending the new system, in fact it will be implemented more stringently," a coal ministry official told Platts.
