Anglo American sees strong Chinese, Indian coking coal demand by 2020

Singapore — UK miner Anglo American will shift its focus towards the emerging Chinese and Indian coking coal markets by 2020, and expects a sharp increase in import demand in those two countries, the company said in a report Thursday. China and India have been identified as “growth markets” with imports expected to more than double by 2020 compared with 2010 levels, at 85 million mt for India and 77 million mt for China, the report said.
