Spot prices were lower week on week Tuesday as buyers were reluctant to take positions on concerns that new supply in China will be offered into the market. China Jiangsu Sailboat Petrochemical is expected to start offering ACN cargoes from its new 260,000 mt/year plant. The plant began trial operations in mid-December 2015 and several market participants said it had sold several test cargoes to fiber producers in Ningbo to ascertain the quality of its ACN. A producer said the Chinese newcomer could have sold its first production at a lower price to gain market acceptance.
