The CFR Northeast Asia ethylene price jumped $20/mt to be assessed at a four-month high of $1,190/mt Friday, driven by persisting supply tightness. From a week earlier, the CFR NEA price was up $40/mt. Spot discussions remained scarce throughout this week due to tight spot supply amid steam cracker turnarounds. Traders continued to seek spot ethylene cargoes but producers did not have any currently due to the turnaround season.
