Asian propylene prices were higher week on week with the CFR China marker rising $55/mt to $905/mt amid lastminute buying in a tightly supplied market ahead of the Lunar New Year holidays. Market participants said there were buyers who preferred to stock up early in the week, while other buyers came in the last minute, putting upward support to prices. A Southeast Asia-based producer said: “This week is the last chance for them [buyers] to buy before the holidays, as the market will be closed over the next two weeks.”
