The Asian ethylene market rose $5-$10/mt Friday on tight supply. Regional supply remained tight amid steam cracker turnaround season, while deepsea supply was also reported to be limited due to a bullish European market. Any deepsea cargoes seen to be available were moving to Europe, sources said. A 5,000 mt spot cargo reportedly offered for H2 June from Saudi Arabia was heard to have been sold to Europe instead. Some trading sources said there would be additional spot cargoes available from Saudi Arabia but details were unclear. An ex-Brazil cargo for August arrival was still being offered, at $1,470-$1,480/mt CFR Asia.
