The US low-density polyethylene export assessment was stable on the week, assessed Wednesday at $1,168-$1,190/mt (53-54 cents/lb) FAS Houston. Rail cars to traders were talked around 50-51 cents/lb, while bagged resin for export was heard moving in the 52-53 cents/lb range, even as offer levels edged higher in the wake of a tighter Latin American market. Fractional melt index LDPE, in particular, was heard harder to secure. Trading sources indicated that export availability remained limited for LDPE and LLDPE grades.
