High density polyethylene prices rose in Asia this week on a combination of snug supply due to planned turnarounds this quarter, and high raw material ethylene prices. Further upward momentum to prices also came from talk of a Middle East plant keeping a force majeure in place since mid-March. But this could not be directly confirmed with the company.
