The January NWE ethylene contract fully settled on December 23 at Eur900/mt FD NWE, a fall of Eur27.50/mt month on month. The initial agreement was between seller BP Refining and Petrochemicals and buyers Clariant and Vinnolit. It was followed by seller OMV with the same buyers. Both buyers and seller OMV confirmed. BPRP did not confirm. The CP is a low not seen since February. Spot low density polyethylene prices closed Wednesday down Eur10/mt at Eur1,410/mt. Spot activity was said to be muted due to the holiday period and in the early days of 2016. There were no particular issues sourcing material. In the contract market, prices were unchanged as offers were heard at a rollover amid muted market activity. Prices were assessed at Eur1,530/mt. Turkish petroleum producer Petkim has decreased its prices for polypropylene, LDPE, most grades of high density polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride, a company source said Monday. PP list prices fell $30/mt for raffia, fiber and injection grades; the LDPE price fell $40/mt; HDPE prices fell $30/mt for injection molding, blow molding and film grade and remained unchanged for pipe grade; PVC prices fell $25/mt for suspension grade and K70, the source said.
