The January NWE ethylene contract fully settled on December 23 at Eur900/mt FD NWE, a fall of Eur27.50/mt month on month. The initial agreement was between seller BP Refining and Petrochemicals and buyers Clariant and Vinnolit. It was followed by seller OMV with the same buyers. Both buyers and seller OMV confirmed. BPRP did not confirm. The CP is at a low not seen since February. European linear low density polyethylene spot prices were assessed unchanged at Eur1,400/mt. The market remained flat following the holiday period as some market participants were yet to return. Contract prices were assessed flat at Eur1,570/mt. One consumer said he was yet to receive price offers and that demand was relatively low.
