Export pricing slipped $11/mt week on week assessed Wednesday at $1,400-$1,422/mt FAS Houston for homopolymer injection grade and at $1,444-$1,466/mt FAS Houston for co-polymer, following talks of an ongoing force majeure, strong demand, and weak feedstock pricing. Those issues also impeded producer margin expansion, sources said. Sources said railcar trading levels from producers were around 61-62 cents/lb level for homopolymer product and 63-64 cents/lb for co-polymer, adding that only distributors held product, which moved prices above the 70-cent/lb level. Sources said the current tight supply and strong domestic demand will lead to another 2-3 cents/lb margin increase in June. In early May, most producers announced June increases of 3 cents/lb, while ExxonMobil announced a mid-June 4 cents/lb hike.
