US spot refinery-grade propylene gained 0.5 cent for the week, assessed Friday at 39.25-39.75 cents/lb delivered, while polymer-grade and chemical-grade propylene increased 2.5 cents from the prior assessments to 49.25- 49.75 cents/lb delivered and 46.25-46.75 cents/lb delivered, respectively. The gains followed talks of planned production outages, with seven US Gulf Coast refineries undergoing turnarounds, while another two are affected by on-going labor disputes and strikes, as Platts has reported. According to buyers these factors have combined to make large RGP sellers more frugal with product.
