The Northwest European polystyrene market rebounded, with spot prices rising on an uptick in demand and more pronounced constraints on supply. Spot prices were assessed at Eur1,125/mt ($1,272/mt) for GPPS, Eur1,190/mt for HIPS and Eur1,193/mt for EPS. Sources said that the weak euro, which has curbed imports, and anticipation of a feedstock price rise in March sent consumers on a buying spree.
