European low density polyethylene spot prices fell again this week, closing Wednesday at Eur1,650/mt, down Eur25/mt week on week. This was the second consecutive decline in prices after last week’s fall, the first such since February. The fall in price was restricted by tightness in 0.3 MFI grade, sources said. The fall in purchasing was on expectation of supply easing, and the seasonal lull going into July, sources said. One trader said that prices were perceived to be at a peak. In the contract market, prices were assessed unchanged on the week, closing at Eur1,750/ mt FD NWE, but up Eur110/mt on the month so far.
