Sources pegged trading levels at the $310/mt FOB level, with June spot offers near the $370/mt FOB USG level. One market source said demand for US product in Asia was cooling off and expected lower pricing in the upcoming months. In feedstocks, spot ethylene climbed 0.375 cent week on week, assessed Thursday at 36.375 cents/lb FD USG for June deliveries, following one production outage in Louisiana and a process upset in Texas. Dow Chemical has suffered a process incident at its Plaquemine, Louisiana, site, resulting in a shutdown of ethylene production, market sources with knowledge of operations said Monday. One market source cited a company e-mail indicating an outage at light hydrocarbon unit #3, which has annual production of 725,000 mt/yr.
