Major PVC producer Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics announced June-loading offers at $940/mt CFR India, $880/mt CFR China, $870/mt CFR Southeast Asia and $840/mt FOB Taiwan Tuesday — all down $30/mt from May offers. The CFR India marker was assessed down $24/mt week on week at $935/mt Wednesday. Some trades were heard from Japanese sellers Monday before activity faded after Formosa released its offers. Buyers in India were holding back this week with their inventories full from large imported volumes in April and incoming cargoes this month. Sentiment was also said to be affected by the monsoon season set to start in June, a market participant said.
