The European polyethylene terephthalate spot price was assessed at Eur1,020/mt FD NWE Wednesday, up Eur20 on the week. Market sources continued to report tightened supplies in the markets even as procurement continued across the EU for the summer months but imports trickled down on the low euro/dollar exchange rate. Indorama’s 130,000 mt/year PET plant in Adana, Turkey was heard shut on Wednesday following a power outage.
