Import spot pricing for PVC in Brazil was stable on the week, assessed at $785-$795/mt CFR as demand slightly improved. Market participants said prices may see an uptick with PVC expected to become tighter in the domestic market due to a producer shutdown. Solvay Indupa’s 300,000 mt/year PVC plant in Santo Andre, Brazil, remained halted as a result of the October 14 fire at Braskem’s ABC Petrochemicals Complex.
