High density polyethylene import pricing in Peru fell for all grades week on week as US offer levels were lower, sources said. Film dropped $25/mt to $1,465-$1,475/mt CFR basis, blowmolding fell $5/mt to $1,455-1,465/mt CFR basis and injection dipped $5/mt to $1,455-$1,465/ mt CFR basis. US-origin resin remained competitive to South America’s West Coast, according to market sources despite an announced 5 cent/lb ($110/mt) July increase by US-based producers. Meanwhile Asia-origin offers have remained scarce according to market sources. Buyers along the West Coast of South America are now awaiting a pricing floor according to market players. The number of US offers were diminishing and buyers are pointing to potential US increases.
