The acrylonitrile prices in Asia fell $30/mt week on week across the board amid weak demand in the region. The CFR Far East Asia marker was assessed at $1,340/mt while CFR Southeast Asia and CFR South Asia fell to $1,310/mt and $1,300/mt, respectively. Buyers were cautious about buying prompt June or July cargoes amid more competitive deepsea offers seen for cargoes arriving later around August. The gap between buying and selling indications remained wide, according to sources. One Northeast Asia-based buyer’s indication for a July cargo was at $1,290/mt, while a Northeast Asia-based seller offered at $1,350/mt. But that cargo was not taken and there was no buying interest at that level, he said.
