US spot paraxylene fell $10/mt on the week to an assessment at $775/mt FOB USG Friday, following talks of weak demand and declining prices in Asia , sources said. Upstream mixed xylene supply remained tight, but that was having no impact on the US paraxylene market as demand remained slow, sources said. The sluggish demand was making it tough to gauge the market, sources said.
