European acrylonitrile was assessed at $1,450mt CIF Med, down $50/mt on the week, on ample supply and a fall in Asian prices. Sources said that Russian material had become more available due to more competitive pricing arising from the devaluation of the ruble versus dollar in December. Sources reported more volumes were becoming more available as a result and going forward there and that this could weigh on pricing going forward in February. This was seen with levels seen as low as $1,350- 1,400/mt CIF.
