US spot ethylene prices gained a quarter-cent week on week, assessed Friday at 52-52.5 cents/lb FOB USG, following a brief outage from a major Texas ethylene producer. Flint Hills Resources completed restarting the steam cracker at its Port Arthur, Texas, petrochemical facility late Thursday after a brief outage, sources said. The restart followed a process upset on Tuesday, the sources added, which coincided with an emissions filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
