Northwest European MEG was assessed at Eur850/mt FCA NWE Friday, up Eur42 on the week, while DEG prices were assessed at Eur920/mt FCA NWE, up Eur10/mt on the week. Balanced to tight supply was the order of the day as producers remained focused on ethylene oxide derivatives, which yielded better margins, while some turnarounds limited spot supply. Ineos’ 450,000 mt/year capacity ethylene oxide plant in Antwerp, Belgium, will commence a threeweek scheduled turnaround in June, a company source confirmed Thursday.
