US polymer-grade propylene was assessed Friday at 29.00-29.50 cents/lb FD USG for prompt-month deliveries, up 1.50 cents week on week. December (M2) was assessed at 29.00-29.50 cents/lb FD USG, also up 1.50 cents for the week. Refinery-grade propylene was assessed Friday at 18.75-19.25 cents/lb FD USG, up 0.75 cent/lb for the week. Sources said the higher prices came as lingering effects from lower production rates, an ongoing allocation from a major producer and declining inventories.
