European high density polyethylene spot prices remained flat as availability remained relatively tight combined with unimpressive demand. HDPE blowmolding, injection, and film were assessed at Eur1,600/mt, Eur1,600/mt, and Eur1,630/mt respectively. In the spot market, one buyer said that the recent fall in some offers of HDPE led to caution in purchasing. In the contract market, prices were assessed unchanged at Eur1,700/mt for film, and Eur1,690/mt for blowmolding and injection. One producer said that availability had improved and this had halted a further price increase. In production news, Spain’s Repsol has restarted its high density polyethylene plant in Sines, Portugal, the company said Wednesday. But, “The force majeure is still in place,” a Repsol spokeswoman also said.
