GPPS: Asian general purpose polystyrene prices were assessed down $7/mt week on week at $1,718/mt CFR China, but up $5/mt at $1,745/mt CFR Southeast Asia. Feedstock styrene monomer prices moved up $17.50/ mt over the last week to $1,631/mt CFR China on Wednesday on the back of short covering among Chinese traders. But fundamentals were seen relatively weak as demand for GPPS and polystyrene in general was said to be slow in China, and SM supply was also heard to be on the higher side.
