Northwest European butadiene prices were assessed at Eur619/mt ($682/ mt) FD NWE Friday, down a marginal Eur1 on the week and stable from Thursday. FOB R’dam prices were assessed at $640/mt The assessment was down $33 from Thursday but up $1 on the week. No deals were seen in the domestic market and buy and sell indications only emerged for exports to the US as a Europe-US arbitrage remained open through this week. Though regular contract exports were heading across the Atlantic from Europe, traders in Europe and the US were reluctant to trade spot cargoes in anticipation of a potential easing of supply in the US and demand toward the year-end waning.
