US spot paraxylene fell $10/mt this week, assessed Friday at $880/mt FOB USG tracking Asian paraxylene prices. Asian paraxylene fell $11/mt this week, assessed Friday at $941/ mt FOB Korea and $962/mt CFR Taiwan/China. Market activity was quiet and fundamentals of slow demand and supply to satisfy remained consistent. Sources said there were a couple of shipments that were fixed to the East Coast from Europe as there was some buy interest there. In contracts, May contracts were expected to settle slightly higher due to recently higher spot pricing amid better demand from Asia, sources said.
