Acrylonitrile prices slid by $15-$25/mt week on week, to $1,425/mt CFR Far East Asia, $1,400/mt CFR Southeast Asia and $1,375/mt CFR South Asia Tuesday amid increasingly bearish market sentiment that the additional capacity coming onstream in China would depress spot prices further. Buyers in Southeast Asia and India have reacted by holding out for lower prices, believing that the surplus supply from Taiwan or South Korea would need to be marketed outside China, rationally to Southeast Asia or India.
