US export PVC prices declined $5/mt on the week to mark the 10th straight week-on-week decline, assessed Wednesday at $775-$785/mt FAS Houston. Supply remained strong despite talks of reduced production rates with three producers with upstream VCM plants in Louisiana and one producer with VCM issues in Texas, sources said. Sources with two producers called the issues minor and said they did not substantially affect production. A trading source said the duration of the reduced rates could lead to lower inventories in July. Producer and trader sources indicated an increase in buying interest from Europe, but the bids were not yet tradable, sources added. Producers and traders remained focused on feedstock production issues in Louisiana.
