The Northwest Europe FD net contract price remained stable on the week at Eur975/mt, reflecting a Eur60/mt rise on the month. Offers were heard in a range of Eur70-90/mt, offers were heard at an increase of Eur50-75/mt. Platts assessed as stable as feedstock ethylene has reached a ceiling and the Eur60/mt increase in ethylene to Eur1,105 has already been fully passed through to PVC. Supply continues tight, with continuing production outages of upstream ethylene. However, a number of steam crackers are expected to resume normal operations through June and July and Shell’s Wesseling cracker is expected back on-line in September. Spot activity was reported by trade and converter sources. The Turkish market is quiet following the election and fall of the lira over the weekend.
