European low density polyethylene spot prices held steady this week at Eur1,260-1,265/mt ($1753) FD NWE, following a rise of Eur35/mt last week. Prices failed to extend gains as, despite sellers retreating from the market, demand was not buoyant enough to support further increases, sources said. “A fall in naphtha has added to the cautiousness from the converters,” a trader said, pegging LDPE prices at Eur1,270- 1,290/mt FD NWE. The source added that converters were reluctant to build inventory as bullishness for April had subsided.
